Question:

Hi, I want to ask you about regional restrictions referring to programming (developing) games for the Zune HD 32 GB. What I am focusing here on are restrictions put on XBOX-360 game programming. According to these, one must be a member of the Creators Club to be able to upload and run XBOX-360 self-developed games on the console. But, to get the membership is not possible when based in the Czech Republic as I am now. In short terms, my question is whether I will be able to develop, upload and run games on the above given Zune model in the Czech Republic with respect to the above mentioned restrictions regulating XBOX-360 game development. Thanks for your replies?

(Author of the question) Thankyou (whoever you are) for your suggestions referring to using proxies.

You could use the proxy routing via your router or in your network settings. Try http://www.ip-adress.com/proxy_list/ . The proxies seem to come and go so you will need to keep yourself up to date

(Author of the question) Well, using a proxy in the US is a brand new idea to me. Can you give me more details, including links or other contact info?

(I am the author of the question) The problem with deploying my games from PC->to->XBOX is that I need to download the "XNA Game Studio Connect" application to my XBOX first (over the Internet from the XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE). But this is not supported in the Czech Republic (the XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE spots from my IP address configured in the XBOX that the location is unsupported Czech Republic). Thus, again, will I need anything like above depicted (as of XBOX) to deploy games from PC->to->Zune, or can I use only my XNA game project and a bare USB cable to achieve the same?

You have XNA and you can connect your Xbox or Zune to your computer. I cannot see why you cannot test your apps on your own devices

(Author of the question) The problem I have with uploading and running games on the XBOX-360 are as follows: when I want to transfer my game, being developed in an XNA project, locally from my PC to my XBOX, I need a tool (application) named "XNA Game Studio Connect" to download to my XBOX from the XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE first. But the XBOX LIVE service is not supported in the Czech Republic (thus I cannot download the XNA Game ... Connect). In short terms, I have a PC with the XNA Game Development Studio running on it, I also have my game project open in the studio, my XBOX is locally connected to my PC, but the last piece (XNA ... Connect) is unavailable (oh, oh - damn, damn, damn). I do not want to face the same or similar situation with the Zune. So, I want to know if I also need anything necessary to upload and run games to the Zune (HD 32GB) which is not available when based in the Czech Republic. What I want to emphasize is that currently I do not want access to any market places to place my games there (such as the XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE). What I wish is to only locally upload, run and test my game project on the above given Zune.

I am based in the UK, I have no restrictions on developing games for the XBOX or the Zune but I am unable to access the marketplace. I donīt have any problem getting membership to Creators Club. Why do you have a problem getting membership with Creators Club?
